It’s a massive festive showdown tonight as we prepare to host Bury. Currently, we sit at the head of the table but Bury are only two points behind us with a game in hand making it important that we get a result tonight.
We come into this fixture in terrific form, having won our last eight in all competitions, our latest victory coming in the cup against Euxton Villa with Rob Worrall, Lewis Byrne, Matty Crothers and Ethan Sutcliffe getting on the scoresheet.
When asked about the current run of form as well as the upcoming fixtures, forward Adam Dale told us “The next month of fixtures are really difficult but if we want to stay in this title race, we need to keep our run of form going, starting on Friday against Bury.”
If our past meetings against Bury are anything to go off, we should expect an enthralling encounter. Last time we faced Bury was in the Macron Cup, ending in a spectacular 4-3 comeback victory for us in snowy conditions. But that was a particularly successful evening for Jermaine Dickinson- Grant who scored a hat-trick against us that night. Jermaine has since joined us here at Chadderton.
Bury have had a mixed bag of results recently, drawing 3-3 at home to Abbey Hey last time out. But we are still fully aware of the quality that they possess and the threat that they will be tonight.
Bury’s Bryan Ly told us “We know what Chadderton are all about, they’ll be physical and up for a fight but I’m sure if we play like we did at home against them, pressing them from the front, then I’m hoping we will get some joy.”
We expect a very difficult game that both teams will be very hungry to win as we approach Christmas, this fixture could be huge in deciding how the rest of the season plays out.
