Sunday marked the start of our first team's National League campaign with an away fixture against Norwich City. Tigers' brand new squad included debut appearances from Chelsie Browne, Emma Kerrigan and Alf Timney. City got off to an early lead with a strong start and some great shooting, forcing Tigers head coach Liv Harcourt to use an early time-out. This marked a swing in the match and the tide started to change as Tigers settled into their new divisions, finding rhythm in their attack, and in defence cutting out City's feeds to disrupt their gameplan. Tigers soon clawed back the deficit and went into half time with a tied score, looking the stronger team. The composure that ended the first half continued throughout the second, with goals spread across the entire team. Notably, Chelsie Browne was joint top goal scorer with 5 goals on her debut, 4 of which were from open play - an achievement matched by fellow debutant and former Birmingham star Alf Timney. Final score ended 22-18, marking a great start to the season for Tigers and a positive result to take into next week's fixture vs Manchester Warriors.
