Tigers faced tough National League competition this weekend as Norwich Knights made the icy commute to Cambridge. Over recent years Knights have been consistent qualifiers at korfball finals weekend. The match got off to an early Knights lead with Tigers struggling to find rhythm in their newly formed divisions. Tigers coach, Liv, was forced to use an early timeout.
Following the timeout Tigers began to regain some flow in their attack and upped the defensive pressure, cutting out feeds and pressuring Knights' shooting. Half time score saw Tigers trailing by two.
The second half saw Tigers coming out all guns blazing, drawing back the deficit and extending to a 6 goal lead.
An unfortunate turn of events saw Tigers skipper roll his ankle just as Knights refound their shooting boots. A nail biting end to the match saw Tigers clinch a dramatic win - 19-18.
A huge result for Tigers and great team performance all round! 🐯🧡🖤
