An inauspicious start to the day with coach Liv struggling with a migraine and Daisy struggling with her car keys.... Against all odds Tigers made it down the M4 and assembled, Avenger-like, to take on one of their fiercest competitors, Bristol Thunder.
Goals were traded pretty much evenly for the first half with Thunder keeping their noses in front. Cozzo came on to give them something else to think about after 20 mins and we finished the first half just 2 goals adrift, feeling confident of moving onwards and upwards in the second half.
Ollie, the mountain, Francis came back on the pitch to add some rebounding heft to the other division, and rebound he did while sneaking a couple of cheeky one handers for himself. Once we had snuck a couple in to draw level there was no stopping us and 16-16 became 16-21. From there we closed out the game comfortably, the team patiently using the clock and making the right choices.
Fantastic team performance with almost everyone on the scoresheet. Andy and Alf smashed in 5, and Chelsie and Georgia both knocked it out the park with 4. But most impressive was the belief, commitment and discipline that demonstrated what a great team Tigers is.
Postscript - always great to see our ex-Tigers youth, Jonny and Loz, playing so well. Lucky Thunder. 🧡🖤
