Tigers 1 travelled down to Croydon to play umpteen times national champions Trojans 1 on Sunday. Both teams fielded the strongest teams they had available, including Dom Brooks who was playing essentially with one hand.
The match took several minutes for both teams to settle in before Trojans superior outside shooting began to show and they took a 4 - 1 lead. After that Tigers managed to settle into their attack better and were able to regularly score, but unfortunately Trojans quality meant that they were able to score faster leading to a 19 - 10 half time score in favour of Trojans.
Head Coach Liv Harcourt's primary focus at half time for the team was to redouble their focus and effort in defence to try to stymie Trojans scoring for the second period. Overall, this was a success with Tigers managing to constrict Trojans to only 12 second half goals whilst scoring another 9 themselves. The final score ran out at 31 - 18 to Trojans, with captain Andy Hall leading the team well in all phases including scoring 6 goals overall. A good performance by the squad in preparation for next week's match against away at Bristol Thunder.
