A very wet and windy journey down to Kent this Sunday for Tigers 2 as they prepared to face old rivals Bearsted 2 for the first time this season. With a first SERL game of the season for Dutchie and first ever for Phoebe, a few new combinations were tried out in what turned out to be a tough test.
Both teams’ defences were sound, with a low-scoring first-half ending 4-4. As the game opened up and players became more tired, Martha and Sam led the scoring to notch up an impressive 18-12 victory in a game that could have gone either way and was neck-and-neck for the most part.
A fantastic defensive effort from the team and game control in the final quarter. Looking forward to the trip down to play Bearsted 1 next weekend.
