After dashing the hopes and dreams of Kingfisher KC last weekend, Tigers 1 faced Tornadoes 1 in a rearranged fixture.
Pop pop This was the grand finale to what has been another great season for a developing team. Unfortunately we found ourselves missing 6 out of 11 1st team squad members for the match, with just 1 first team boy available. Time for our 2nd teamers to step up and show what they are made of. And so they did. A 2-0 lead for Tigers had the crowd roaring. After 6 minutes they had clawed back a couple of goals, but still had to call a very early time out to have 'words". 😀
Tornadoes found their rhythm, and the half settled to a 16-5 close. Tigers fought on in the second half managing to score more than in the first, and keeping the top 3 contenders to under 30. New boy and Wales squad member, Gary Lam, came on for a cheeky 10 minutes at the end, managing to stamp his mark on the game with a nice goal. The game ended 12 -29, a very respectable scoreline all things considered, and we went to the pub to celebrate the end of a long season, and to wet the head of our newest Tiger cub, baby Albie (congratulations Andy and Megan).
Tigers continue to move onwards and upwards. Roll on next season!
