Tigers 1 vs Nomads

With the start of their season delayed, our NL squad finally got underway this afternoon in a fixture that always promises to be a tight affair as we welcomed Nomads to the Perse. As is always the way we say goodbye to some old (but young) faces and hello to some new ones as we start the new season with Tigers debuts from Alex, Ellen and Tao. 

A tense start saw both teams defending strongly with few goals to share between them. After going down a few goals, Tigers were able to pull things back with some strong shooting. A couple of wonderfully converted goals from Rebekka and Emma helped see Tigers into half time neck and neck at 8-8. 

The second half continued much like the first with defence generally winning out with goals being hard to come by. Both teams shared the lead throughout the half but it wasn’t to be for Tigers today as they went down to a last minute penalty. Final score 16-17. 

Special shoutouts to our debutants for fitting in nicely and showing us all there is a lot to be excited about for the season ahead. 

Now for a long break before our next fixture as four of our players jet off to Taiwan to represent England and Ireland at World Championships! Best of luck to Andy and Lavinia (plus still honorary Tiger Ollie) representing England and Chelsie and Sam representing Ireland!
