After a long journey down the East Coast for FAL, Berwick started the stronger of the 2 teams creating lots of attacking opportunities. FAL defensive held strong, defending a few short corners and prevented Berwick from scoring. Going forward FAL made use of space with lots of passing and moving creating offensive chances. A lovely pass down the right from Lauren T to Olivia opened up the Berwick defensive. Olivia crossed the ball to Kirsty who gave Jenni a quick pass. Jenni finished with a strong reverse sweep. 1-0 to FAL.
The second quarter was much the same with Berwick having most of the possession and FAL making chances on the break. Some good attacking play from FAL made chances in the D but no outcomes. Berwick scored towards the end of 2nd quarter with a cross field pass from our left. 1-1 at half time.
FAL were slow to start at the beginning of the 3rd quarter, losing shape in the midfield and allowing Berwick space to attack. An early goal saw Berwick going 2-1 ahead.
The fourth quarter saw FAL come out with a renewed energy and desire to create chances. This saw us earn our first short corners of the game which were well defended by Berwick.
