Players Code of Conduct

Obligations Towards the Game

1. Make every effort to develop their own sporting abilities, in terms of skill, technique, and stamina.

2. Give maximum effort and strive for the best possible performance during a game.

3. Set a positive example for others, particularly young players and supporters.

4. Avoid all forms of gamesmanship and time-wasting.

5. Not use inappropriate language.


Obligations Towards One's Team

1. Make every effort consistent with fair play and the laws of the game to help their own team win.

2. Resist any influence which might be, or might seem to be, a question of their commitment to the team winning.


Respect for the Laws of the Game

1. Accept success and failure, victory and defeat, equally.

2. Resist any temptation to take banned substances or use banned techniques.


Respect Towards Opponents

1. Treat opponents with due respect at all times, irrespective of the result of the game.

2. Safeguard the physical fitness of opponents, avoid violence and rough play, and help injured opponents.

3. Shake hands with the other team at the end of the game, no matter what the result is.


Respect Towards Match Officials

1. Accept the decision of the match official without protest.

2. Avoid words or actions which may mislead a match official.

3. Show due respect towards match officials.


Respect Towards Team Officials

1. Abide by the instructions of their team coach and team officials, provided they do not contradict the spirit of this code.

2. Show due respect towards the team officials of the opposition.


Obligations Towards the Supporters

1. Show due respect to the interests of supporters.

Parents & Guardians Code of Conduct

- Never force my child to play football; they should enjoy playing.

- Praise effort and performance above results.

- Praise good behaviour to show that adults value it.

- Applaud good play by either team.

- Do not argue with the referee or any of the officials' decisions.

- Stay off the field of play and do not interfere during a game.

- Let the referee and officials deal with any incidents or situations during and after the game.

- Do not coach from the sidelines or shout at any child if they make a mistake.

- Do not use foul and abusive language towards any players, officials, or other spectators.

- Enjoy watching the game whether your team wins or loses.

- Ensure your child is prompt at training and matches.

- Contact your coach/manager in plenty of time if the player is not available for games and training.

- Ensure your child is collected promptly from training and games.

- Do not leave your child at training sessions or games until the manager/coach is present. The club is not responsible for the players until the manager/coach arrives for the session.

Photographs

- Any photography taken is used for the sole purpose of representing your child's team or club. Where possible, team or group photos will be used rather than individual ones, and no names, addresses, or references will be used to identify any individual player(s) within the photographs.


Please Note

- Any player incurring a fine or costs liable to be paid by the club will be asked to reimburse Westwood Wanderers FC for the monies paid in full. All match and training subs must be paid promptly. The club reserves the right to exclude a player for non-payment.

Coaches Code of Conduct

We all share a collective responsibility to set a good example and help create a positive environment where children can learn and enjoy the game. Play your part and observe The FA’s Respect Code of Conduct at all times.


On and Off the Field, I Will:

- Use my position to set a positive example for the young people I am responsible for.

- Show respect to others involved in the game, including match officials, opposition players, coaches, managers, officials, and spectators.

- Adhere to the laws and spirit of the game.

- Promote fair play and high standards of behaviour.

- Respect the match official’s decision.

- Never enter the field of play without the referee’s permission.

- Never engage in, or tolerate offensive, insulting, or abusive language or behaviour.

- Be gracious in victory and defeat.


When Working with Players, I Will:

- Place each player's well-being, safety, and enjoyment above everything, including winning.

- Never engage in or tolerate any form of bullying.

- Encourage each player to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and performance.

- Ensure all activities I organize are appropriate for the player’s ability level, age, and maturity.

- Cooperate fully with others in football (e.g., officials, doctors, physiotherapists, welfare officers) for each player’s best interests.


I Understand That If I Do Not Follow the Code, Any/All of the Following Actions May Be Taken by My Club, County FA, or The FA:

- I may be required to meet with the club, league, or County Welfare Officer.

- I may be suspended by the club from attending matches.

- I may be suspended or fined by the County FA.

- I may be required to leave or be dismissed by the club.
