The management of the Club is entrusted to the Committee who are elected at the club’s Annual General Meeting, held soon after each season ends. The Club Constitution details how the Committee is formed and how it conducts the club’s business. Some of this activity is conducted by Sub Committees, which meet outside of the monthly full committee meetings, keeping separate minutes and reporting back to the full committee.
Patrick started at the club as a junior at the age of 11 playing through the junior age groups and then through the senior sides making his 1st XI debut in 2008. Having left the club in 2009 for university Patrick then travelled to the south of England playing for various clubs before returning home in the 2019 offseason. Since returning he has been a key figure at the club taking on various roles including the secretary role, and groundsman duties & most notably captaining the 2nd XI to league promotion in 2021
In December 2022 Patrick was voted in as Chairman for the 2023 season, everyone at the club wishes him well within his new role.
Larwood has been on the committee for 8+ years having first joined the club only a few years prior, most recently 5 years as chair. On top of his previous roles, Larwood has taken the near thankless Job of umpiring the 1st/2nd XI over the past few years (when he isn’t called upon late notice to don the whites). As well as previously conduction groundwork, running the junior section, clean-sweeping cyphers bar quiz nights and enjoying the rare pint of Doom Bar.
Marc Granville is one of our newest members to sit on the committee, having joined the club for the 2019 season Marc has proven himself to be a steady cricketer opening the bowling and batting in the middle order for the 3rd/4th XI’s. Having finished 3rd in the club MVP award for 2021 Marc is looking forward to the challenges of pushing forward up the Saturday XIs and contributing off the field in his new role on the committee.
John continues his role as treasurer, a position that he has held for the past 8 years. John first joined the club bringing his two sons to the Junior section, both of whom have gone on to play 1st XI cricket for Cyphers. Not only has John has been instrumental in the smooth running of the club over the past few years helping the club get into a good financial position, but he also regularly scores for the 1st/2nd XI on the weekend.
Richard is one of the longest-serving members of the club playing for the club for over 40 years having played in nearly all of the senior XI’s across his time. Richard currently captains the Saturday 4th XI and for the past 25+ years has sat on the committee as fixture secretary and KCL & KRCL representative.
This year sees Bronwyn Purcell take over the role of club Safeguarding officer, having previously been involved at various capacitates at the club the committee is very thankful she has taken up this vital position as we look to continue the growth at the club in particular the Junior section. Bronwyn’s experience working as a teacher’s assistant at Sandhurst primary school and her very warm and welcoming nature we are sure she be a brilliant safeguarding officer.
Over the past 10 years, Tevin has worked his way up from the 5th XI to winning the 2021 1st XI player of the year, in 2021 Tevin stepped up to the role as 1st XI & Club captain halfway through the season. Tevin has taken to the role like a duck to water, with his calm and collective persona on the field and his strong leadership.
In his first full season in charge, Tevin led the club to our first-ever 1st XI league title, finishing as Champions in Division 4 of the Kent Cricket Leagues 1st XI structure.
Rudy, or Uncle as he is more commonly known as, came over from Catford Wanderers in 2015 bringing a wealth of experience as a cricketing manager and coach. Rudy has been a part of a lot of senior players' development be it through coaching both at a Junior & Senior level at Cyphers or through the old Lewisham district team with John Palmer. We are very thankful to have someone of Rudy’s calibre at the club and look forward to the direction the teams will be looking to go under his leadership.
Since joining the club in 2020 as a parent of a junior, Matt has started his own coaching journey completing the ECB's foundation 1 & Core Coach courses, every increasing and improving his skillset Matt is very keen to see the improvement of all of our junior cricketers. In 2022 Matt not only managed the Cyclones 11's in their first season in standard cricket but also managed the Thunder U11s to back-to-back league titles.
Matt will lead our junior section in 2023 as our first director of junior cricket and we can not be happier as a committee that Matt has agreed to take on this role.
Bill Perera is one of our club's longest-serving committee and playing members, having joined the club in the late 1990s, Bill has played for various sides on Saturdays & Sundays and is currently the second-highest runs scorer in his time at the club.
Bill has sat on the committee for the majority of his time at the club in various capacities from the captain, Chairman of selectors and most recently Chairman in 2022, under Bill's leadership the club took massive strides in improving the club's facilities for all of our members and saw great success on the field, Bill continues to sit on the committee to offer much-needed business advice and support as we continue to drive the club forward.
Having played for the club since 2011 Tevin has played in all of our Saturday sides starting in the 5th XI and moving his way up to the 1st XI over the past several years. In 2021 Tevin was asked by the committee to take over the captaincy of the Saturday 1st XI.
In his first full year as skipper, Tevin won the club's first Kent Cricket League 1st XI title as the side went 16-2 on their way to winning division 4, leading from the front and scoring over 400 runs at 34.75, taking 6 wickets and an impressive 14 outfield victims, 12 catches and 2 run outs.
We look forward to seeing how Tevin and the 1st XI go in the all-new league structure for 2023 as they play in Division 3 of the KCL

Pauline has been part of the junior committee since 2022 and has taken up the role of our junior secretary for the 2023 season. Pauline has a lot of input in how our junior section is ran and we look forward to seeing how we can shape the junior section with her in this new position.

2023 Will be Deborah's first season as our Junior fixture secretary having sat on the junior committee in 2022 as an ex-officio. Deborah has been a member of the club for the past seven years whilst her son Kory has been a junior member of the club since under 11.
Deborah has been a key role in the new set up of the junior committee and we look forward to having her continued input within the running of our junior section
The man that doesn’t need much introduction, Asher has thrived at the club in the past few years another product of the Cyphers Junior section, another individual who has worked his way through the senior sides becoming a key figure in the pace attacks of the 1st/2nd XI as well as moving on from his modelling career Asher has recently taken up the role of head coach of the Junior section in 2021 with the junior playing section going from strength to strength
Nick joined the junior committee in 2022 as an ex-officio member. In 2022 Nick headed up our food campaign, Friday Night Cricket Dinners, whereby each junior Friday night training session we have a variety of local food vendors come down to serve meals to our members/local community Friday Night Cricket Dinners has proven to be a huge success.
We can not wait to see what 2023 has in store for our Friday night summer training sessions. Nick also has two juniors who were part of our inaugural under 11's girls team in 2022
