A combined team of Cheetahs and Cobras played against Whitchurch, Cardiff U16 girls in a friendly match at CLC today. The first 20 mins ebbed and flowed with both sides having several chances in front of goal to open the scoring.
The deadlock was broken midway into the second quarter by Whitchurch with a well taken breakaway goal. CHC responded well and scored soon after to make the score 1-1 at half time.
The second half started badly for CHC with two very quick-thinking breakaway goals for Whitchurch in the first 5 min of the third quarter to take the lead 1-3. A little player reshuffle thawed the breakaway tactics of Whitchurch and allowed CHC a foothold back into the game. This was rewarded in the final quarter of the match when CHC scored their second goal early and apply a lot of pressure to get the equaliser, unfortunately it was not to be.
Both sides were evenly matched, and Whitchurch should be congratulated for their win and playing their part in an extremely entertaining game.
