Cliftonville vs Ashford Sharks

"Who needs DV when we have Tinashe" - said Jen Chapman

Cliftonville set the tone early being first on the pitch for a sunny warm up session. With only five women who heroically played the whole game and six men rotating throughout it was a battle of stamina. The first half was very even with fantastic distribution from both sides. There was aerials throughout the game, long distant passes and great movement in the midfield. Both teams upped the pressure in the second half with the opposition taking a lot of the possession. Cliftonville absorbed the advances of the opposition with Edwin remaining impressively calm and composed under pressure. Goalie, Jamie, was on point throughout the game. Electric passes coming through Alex and onto the forwards Charlie and Tinashe, which eventually led to Tinashe having a two on one and sinking a fantastic ball in the far post.

Jen offered some aggressive tactics with Dave offering assistance who seemed to play in all positions throughout the game. It was a great win under extreme pressure that was hugely down to a great defensive effort from Kerry, Anna and Paula - With some stick crippling tackles from Paula. Gabriel rotated on to assist up front with some great tactical play and Harriett up front confusing their defence. Overall a great game and we look forward to future challenging games. A big shout out to the umpire (Al MacKinnon) who stepped in last minute, and allowed the game to go ahead!

Shout out to our Head Cheerleader, Steve, who was on hand to assist in all aspect of the teams preparation.
