Match Report: Cliftonville Ladies 2s vs. Tunbridge Wells

As Storm Burt loomed on the horizon, the intrepid Cliftonville Ladies 2s braved the challenging conditions to face a determined Tunbridge Wells side. Despite the weather, both teams delivered an action-packed encounter that kept spectators on edge.

Tunbridge Wells took an early lead with a powerful strike from the top of the D, followed by a second goal from a well-executed long corner. Undeterred, Cliftonville regrouped and began pressing forward with purpose. Their efforts paid off when Tracy found the back of the net with a brilliant open-play strike from the edge of the D, closing the gap before halftime.

The second half began with Tunbridge Wells capitalizing on a short corner to extend their lead to 3-1. Cliftonville, however, refused to back down. Sally’s superb strike from a short corner made it 3-2, igniting hopes of a comeback. But as the match wore on, Tunbridge Wells regained control, sealing the game with a fourth goal from open play.

The final scoreline of 4-2 doesn’t reflect the determination and fighting spirit of Cliftonville, who showed grit and tenacity throughout. With such a positive performance under tough conditions, they’ll no doubt come back stronger in their next match.
