DURHAM COUNTY JUNIOR HOCKEY ASSESSMENTS 2024 to 2025

You have been nominated by your school/club as a player who they feel would benefit from being part of England Hockey’s Performance Pathway. Representing Durham County is the first step towards regional representation or higher. Assessment sessions (or county trials) will be held at Durham University and Egglescliffe School on 22nd and 29th September- please use this link for more details… Durham County Hockey Plan 2024 to 2025

Players will initially pay £8 per session to attend two assessments that act as selection to Durham County for season 2024 to 25. The trial dates are outlined for each specific age group on the link below- please note, the age groups now match school year groups rather than calendar years which was previously the case.

CURRENT SCHOOL YEAR FOR 2024 to 2025

UNDER 18 ASSESSMENTS 2024 - YEAR 11, YEAR 12 and YEAR 13 (5th & 6th Formers)

UNDER 15 ASSESSMENTS 2024 - YEAR 10 (4th)

UNDER 14 ASSESSMENTS 2024 - YEAR 9 (3rd)

UNDER 13 ASSESSMENTS 2024 - YEAR 8 (2nd)

UNDER 12 ASSESSMENTS 2024 - YEAR 7 (1st) OR YOUNGER 

Selected players will need to then pay a further £110 which gives them access to the County Training Sessions and the Competition Days against other county squads. In addition to this, the Under 14 age group and older will be assessed throughout the season for selection to the next level of the performance pathway (Talent Academy).

The sign up for this season will be via the ‘Teamo’ app- this will make communication between myself, the coaches and the parents easier and payments for sessions will also be made via the app. Therefore, to take part in the Durham Junior Hockey Performance Pathway, players and parents must become a member of the Durham County Teamo App by following the instructions via this link- Teamo Sign Up Guide

Registration

Once you have read the instructions, please email the address below for the Teamo Link- you will be able to see all of the September Age Group Assessments on the Teamo calendar. Please sign up to the appropriate age group assessment relevant to you (eg- an U12 Boy needs to join the ‘U12 Boys Assessments 2024’)- You will need to do this even if you played for Durham County last season. Once you have booked a place, you can also make payment- I will send out reminder notifications and more information in the week prior to the September 22nd Assessment.

Dates for Season 2024 to 25

The full program for this year can be found on the sheet below (just click on download). As you will see, assessments are being held on the 22nd and 29th September- once you have signed up, payment can be made directly. If you can’t attend both sessions, please do not worry but it is obviously to the players advantage that they are observed across both sessions.

You will also note that there is an Easter Training Camp for Under 14 and younger players- held at Yarm School- this is purely optional and is in addition to the rest of the county programme. More info will follow later in the season for this.
