On a typical English afternoon our team battled the elements to grind out a 2-2 draw. While the game itself was fairly even and, let’s be honest, not the most thrilling spectacle, the true opponent was the weather.
The goals came and went, though the frostbite in my brain has blurred the details. No cards were handed out—an achievement in itself—but otherwise, it was a game where the most consistent performers were the wind and the chill.
Afterwards, we thawed out at the pub, where the real highlight of the day took place: a heartfelt send-off for our captain, Euan. As he played his “final game” for the club, we raised a glass (or several) to his outstanding leadership and commitment. Euan, you’ve been a fantastic captain, and while you’ll be missed, we’re grateful for everything you’ve done for the team.
Oh, and as for me being named Donkey of the Day? No idea why, but I’ll take the honor—just don’t ask me to explain it. Here's to warmer games and more pub celebrations ahead!
