Don’t make any other plans on a Saturday, because it’s not over once the hockey has finished. With an on-site clubhouse offering exceptional facilities (and a student price bar) there’s no need to decamp anywhere. Settle in for the day, enjoy the new club teas and cheer on the other home teams (or groan at attempted spin moves and other assorted showboating) from the balcony with a beverage of choice in hand.
Throw in a regular calendar of club and team socials for good measure – recent examples include pub quizzes, a trip to the Oval, German Beer Hall night (complete with Dirndls), Flight Club and Halloween clubhouse games night amongst many others, your hockey social life is sorted! Not forgetting of course our annual central London black-tie End of Season bash.
It doesn’t stop when the main season finishes – we usually take part in tours and festivals, as well as hosting our own summer festivities. We run a mixed summer hockey league at our home ground which has built great relationships across the club and gives us even more reason to get together for a drink!
