LETCHWORTH LADIES...ASSEMBLE
This weeks match saw the revival of the team we started as at the start of the season, the game of headless chickens in the past.
Week 4 of the season saw the Letchworth Ladies play against Hertford on the home turf at the crack of dawn. The first half was rather comfortable for Letchworth who had the majority of ball possession. However, as the half time whistle blew the score was 0-0.
As the second half began, Letchworth managed to gain a short corner where the first goal was scored by Niamh Wase.
This victory however was short lived with Hertford countering back with a goal of their own. With a draw in hand in the second half, the fight was on. Hertford came at the goal again and scored leaving the Ladies on the losing side for the first time this late in the game. Thankfully, another short corner won by Montanna Bentley and with Niamh in for the straight strike, we evened the battlefield to 2-2.
With the clock ticking down and our team spirit at a high, we entered the endgame and were chasing down the win whatever it took. Francesca Haywood once again ensured that we would end the game successfully by scoring the final goal and bringing home the win once more.
