Men's 1 lost 0-3 away to Loughborough Students 4
Men's 2 lost 2-3 at home to Nuneaton 1
Goals: Jordan Allen & Ryan Harrison
Men's 3 won 4-2 at home to Stratford 4
Goals: Noel Burton, Richard Goswell & Martyn Wilkinson (2)
The Men's 3s recorded the first men's section league win running out 4-2 winners.
Martyn Wilkinson scored the first goal, assisted by a quick ball slipped across the D in front of the keeper from Richard Goswell. Not long after Stratford evened up the scoreline.
The defence of David Wilford, Will Feayour, Phil Dickinson, Steven Pateman and Raoul Mercer worked hard to keep the opposition under control, but just on the half-time whistle Stratford scored to make it 1-2.
A solid team talk from the Captain and the 3s were soon pushing forward with Simon Scott working really hard to bring the ball out of defence. Ted Baker playing his first 3s game worked really hard in midfield alongside David Littlewood.
The forwards of Richard Goswell, Noel Burton, Martyn Wilkinson and Louis Dickinson kept up the pace and managed to slot away three goals to make it 4-2. Burton took the opportunity from a high ball and a one-on-one against the keeper. Special mention to Louis Dickinson who sent the ball over the keeper for Goswell to make sure it went over the line.
Great Win and looking forward to next weeks early start.
Women's 1 won 11-0 away to Northampton Saints 3
Goals: Hattie Hammond (3), Charlie James (7) & Emily Williams
Player of the Match: Charlie James
The match started off well with some good passing throughout the midfield who linked up to the forwards nicely. It was not long before we had our first goal from Charlie James.Throughout the first half the midfield worked really hard to maintain and win possession of the ball leading to the defence having little to do. A few successful short corners later and a half ended 4-0 to Harborough.
During the second half there were more breakaway attacks from Saints which kept the Harborough defence on their toes.Towards the later stages of the game Saints were tiring and Harborough managed to up their goal total to 11 with some tenacious play from the forwards. Final score was 11-0 to Harborough with goals from Charlie James (7), Hattie Hammond (3), Emily Williams.
Badgers lost 0-2 at home to Welford
