The Mens AGM was held on Thursday 16th May and we would like to communicate to our membership, important points to come from the meeting.

The committee asked the membership for permission to investigate and move towards a merger with Morpeth Ladies HC, to become a single entity.

This motion was agreed at the meeting and the committee will now commence the process of working towards the merger of Morpeth Mens HC & Morpeth Ladies HC.

The below Rule changes were agreed at the AGM.

Membership

Men’s Hockey members will be members of Morpeth Cricket, Hockey and Tennis Club and will be bound by both the club and sections rules, these rules may only be amended by a General Meeting of the section (or club)

Playing membership is open to all individuals. Social Membership is open to individuals of any age. Membership is subject to the completion of a membership form, parental consent (when under 16) and the payment of appropriate fees.

Membership Levels are;

Hon. Life members. – Which may be conferred on those members whose past services have, in the opinion of the members, been of such value to the club as to merit their election. Such elections shall take place at the MCHTC AGM. Nominations may only be made to the MCHTC Committee.

Senior Playing membership – Open to those members aged 16 or over, who are willing to take part in the sporting activities of the Hockey Club, on payment of the appropriate subscription as determined at the section AGM.

Concession Membership - As Senior Membership, but for those members receiving full time education, apprenticeship, unemployed or retired. 

Junior Membership – Shall be confined to those members under the age of 16 years of age on the 1st November on payment of the appropriate subscription as determined at the section AGM. Such members do not have the right to vote at an AGM/EGM, except for the position of Junior Captain.

Umpires Membership - For players who are active Umpires for Morpeth Hockey Club(5+ Games per season). Subscription rates to be set at half of the relevant rates as stated in 3.3.2, 3.3.3 and 3.3.4.

Social Membership - For non-playing members or for members who wish to participate in Summer/Casual Hockey. These members are entitled to play league hockey on payment of an enhanced Match Fee. Such members do not have the right to vote at an AGM/EGM. Subscriptions and Enhanced Match Fee to be determined at the Section AGM.

The rates for Subscriptions for the coming season are as follows

Senior Subs - £130

Concession Subs - £65

Junior Subs - £65

Social Subs - £30

Senior Match Fees - £8

Concession/Junior Match Fees - £4

Enhanced Match Fees - £12 (£8 for concessions)

Please note the club will not be offering an early payment discount this season.

A New Player/Umpire Membership was announced at the AGM. A playing Umpire will pay half of their relative Subscriptions.

To qualify, a player needs to umpire a MINIMUM of 5 league Games per Season, this can be Morpeth Mens or Ladies.

Members who wish to take up this offer must email our Treasurer who will allocate the Umpire Subscription on Teamo for payment.

We will again be using Teamo to collect Match Fees/Subscriptions. This year we will also offer Teamo Pay. This is a single monthly payment, akin to a direct debit. This is entirely optional for any member.
