About the Club

Old Wulfrunians Hockey Club, widely known as "Old Wulfs", was formed in 1953 by a group of former school friends who had enjoyed playing hockey whilst on National Service and wanted to continue playing. Our membership age ranges from 7 to 90 and new members are always welcome, regardless of age, experience or ambition. Frequent social events help to ensure a traditional friendly club atmosphere.

Old Wulfs has around 90 regular senior and junior members with a range of both senior and junior teams.

England Hockey - Midlands League

• Mens 1st XI - Midlands Men's North West Division 7
• Mens 2nd XI - Midlands Men's North West Division 8
• Mens 3rd XI - Midlands Men's North West Division 9
• Mens 4th XI - Midlands Men's North West Division 10

We also enter mens over 40's and over 50's into national cup competitons, aswell as competing in the regional indoor league.

The Club also offers an adult "Pay as You Play" (PAYP) rate of £18.00 per game (£12.00 match fee, £6.00 subscription payment). Anyone wishing to make use of this facility should complete a PAYP declaration form (available from the club treasurer) and return it to him. This £16.00 rate should also be the rate paid by "occassional players".

Juniors attending Training only will require to be a member of the Club and a £25.00 Annual Subscription applies. 

TRAINING IS ON TUESDAY EVENINGS!

During the hockey season the club runs training sessions on a Tuesday evening at Wolverhampton Grammar School.

All ages are welcome and all abilites can be catered for. Please note that those under the age of 18 must wear gum shields and shin pads and failure to arrive with these items may restrict or even prevent participation in training activities.

All sessions during the regular season will be Free of Charge to Club Members.

(Non Old Wulfrunians Hockey Members - we welcome players from outside the club to our training sessions if you have an interest in joining our club. We need to cover insurance for your participation at a charge of £2 per session. For more details please contact us HERE )

OLD WULFS HOCKEY CLUB, SAFEGUARDING and WELFARE OFFICER.

I'm Peter Prescott and have the pleasure of being the above club officer. I started playing for our club in the mid 1970's, while for the last few years I regularly umpire on Saturdays. I've been the club Safeguarding and Welfare Officer for over 10 years. I know the importance of the whole area of safeguarding, as in a former life I worked in schools for over 40 years, with 18 of those as a Primary School Head-Teacher.

The main aspects of my role are:-

1.  to work with others in our club to ensure a positive and safe child centred culture and environment exists,
2.  to assist the club fulfil its' responsibilities to safeguarding children, as stipulated by England Hockey,
3.  to be the first point of contact for coaches, captains, children and young adults (up to the age of 18) and their parents, if concerns about child welfare,   poor practice or abuse are identified,
4.  to record and report any child protection concerns or allegations,
5.  to ensure all our coaches, team captains and other officers of our club have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate.

If you are already a member, or if you wish to become a member, of Old Wulfrunians Hockey Club, it is a requirement of that membership that you register on our website.

The website is the communication hub of the Club and registration allows you to access to a range of resources, information, fixture details, selection matters and other useful news.

Registration will also mean the Club can keep you updated via emails, newsletters and news bulletins.

By completing your member profile accurately and in full, we can then securely maintain a full record of our club members including contact details, emergency contact details, preferred playing positions and medical records.

These are all very important in the smooth running of the club and ensuring the well-being of our members.

Using the links below you can download the latest HOME and AWAY team match and result sheet.

Please remember these need to be completed by the Home Team Captain / Manager and handed to the Umpires before the match.

For the new season Old Wulfs will be agian be using Kukri as our supplier for all off-field & training kit as well as match day shorts and socks.

You will as before be able to buy everything direct from a specific Kukri Old Wulfs Team Shop, which can be accessed via the logo above or link below

The team shop offers a wide range of both adult and youth sized items. Once you have placed your order you will receive the item(s) back in approx 14 days embroidered with the Old Wulfs logo. All items bought from the Team Shop will be posted to you directly and can be ordered at any time.

Most items also have the option to add embroidered or printed initials for an additional fee. If you do not wish to add this leave the ‘Initial’ box blank.
