We took a squad of just 11 to Cannock against a side which had squeezed a narrow win against us previously. We managed some good link up play and threatened the opposition goal on a number of occasions. With a couple of players struggling and no substitutions available we were inevitably hampered and went a goal down with Colin being exposed at the back. The friendly banter and apparent camaraderie between one of the Cannock umpires and their forwards was unusual for a league match. Following a rather odd decision an Old Wulf made inappropriate protestations and was sent off.
Nonetheless our hockey remained largely positive and Sunni managed to pull us back into the game. Opportunities followed at both ends but we would probably consider ourselves to have lost 2 points on this occasion. We were invited back for teas but unfortunately nobody could attend on this occasion.
