A depleted Old Wulfs 1 made the lovely trek through traffic to take on Barford 4s, hoping to put last week's narrow loss against Sutton 4s behind us and regain momentum in our challenge for the league title.
Travelling with 11 players, including debutant Will Evans and Rich Frost making only his second appearance for Old Wulfs 1s, the away side actually settled much the better even after conceding the first goal, with fantastic movement from Minton and the Evans' leading to a handful of chances, with Will Evans scoring a lovely goal on debut after good buildup play.
Old Wulfs kept the pressure on, even through a couple of injuries, and were still the better team as half time came, at 1-1.
The second half was a continuation of the first, with mobile forward play causing the Barford defence and midfield considerable problems, cumulating in Rich Frost teaching Minty how a goal should be scored from the back post, and the elder Evans rounding off a good day for the dad and lad with his own goal from a saved short corner.
Barcode pulled a goal back themselves from a well taken short corner, but Old Wulfs easily saw the game out with a 3-2 win to maintain their 5 point lead at the top of the table.
