More Level 2 Coaches On The Way!

With the club bursting at the seams, it is of paramount importance we have the right number and the right level of coaches for all our members.

With this in mind, three of our Shaikly coaches from Yrs 7, 8 and 9 have just started their Level 2 England Netball Coaching course. After successfully completing the Level 1 course earlier in the year, Georgie, Jo and Nat started their three month journey to gain Level 2 status this week. Taught and accredited by England Netball the course consists of a mixture of online sessions, five coursework assignments, a weekend face to face element, followed by a professional discussion and assessment.

In order to pass they will have to show they are competent in planning and carrying out a four week coaching program. Along with understanding the skills and tactics of the game of netball, they also have to show they can assess safety effectively and understand how the club ethos affects their approaching to coaching and development. Coaches also have to have independently completed an Ofqual accredited emergency first aid certificate and a recognised safeguarding course.

With the support and back up of the Shaikly Netball Club and its desire to develop all of its members, all of the above is undertaken in the spare time of our amazing volunteers. This commitment to the club, along with their own development is priceless and highly appreciated, as without it, the club couldn't run.
