Quoting Messages

Highlight specific messages by quoting them to draw attention and provide clear context in your responses. To quote a message, hold down on the message you'd like to quote and click Quote.

WhatsApp-Style Formatting

Make your messages stand out with simple formatting options:

  • Bold Text: Place an asterisk (*) before and after the word or phrase to make it bold. For example: *bold*.
  • Italics Text: Use an underscore (_) before and after the word or phrase to italicize it. For example: _italics_.

Broadcast Messaging

Sending a Broadcast Message

Broadcast messages allow you to send targeted messages to groups or individuals. They appear as personalised notifications inviting replies but won’t clutter the Chats section unless a conversation already exists or the recipient responds.

Steps to Send a Broadcast Message

For Admins:

  • Go to Manage Club > Send Notifications > Broadcast Message tab.
  • Write your message and select the group(s) you want to notify.

For Captains/Managers:

  • Go to Chats > New Chat 1-2 Many.
  • Write your message and select the group(s) you want to notify.

Personalising Broadcast Messages

You can personalise messages by including recipient details. For example, use !{firstName} to include the recipient’s first name.

Cross-Platform Delivery

Broadcast messages can also be sent via email. This ensures important updates are received even if members are not using the app.

Who Can Send Broadcast Messages?

  • Captains/Managers: Can send to the teams/groups they manage.
  • Admins: Can send to any team.

Notifications

Checking Read Status

  • For individual chats:
  • Two ticks next to the timestamp indicate the message was delivered.
  • One tick means the message was sent but not yet delivered.
  • A paper plane icon means the message is currently sending.
  • Tap the message and select Info for more details.
  • For group chats: View who has read your message and who hasn’t.

Muting Notifications

To mute or turn off notifications for a chat:

  1. Open the chat.
  2. Under the contact or group chat name, select the option to mute notifications for a specific period or turn them off entirely.

Sharing Files and Media

To share photos, videos, or files:

  1. Open a chat.
  2. Select the paperclip icon in the bottom left corner.
  3. Choose from GIFs, media from your device, or files (PDF format required for documents).

By utilising Teamo’s features, you can maintain a safe, organised, and efficient communication platform for your team.
