Make managing your club finances simple by connecting your Teamo account to trusted payment providers Stripe or GoCardless. With these platforms, you can easily collect payments for memberships, match fees, tickets, and more directly through the Teamo app.

Both Stripe and GoCardless are globally trusted, highly secure, and relied upon by millions of users.

How to Connect a Payment Account

  1. Navigate to Manage Club > Payment Accounts.
  2. Select Connect under either Stripe or GoCardless.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup in minutes!

Is Stripe Safe?

Yes, Stripe is extremely secure. All payments processed by Stripe are PCI Level 1 compliant—the highest standard of payment security. Trusted by thousands of businesses worldwide, you can rely on Stripe for safe and seamless transactions.

How Much Does Stripe Cost?

Stripe is free to set up and only takes a few minutes. The costs are transaction-based:

  • Standard Fee: 1.5% + 20p per transaction.
  • Commercial Card Fee: 1.9% per transaction.

Additionally, Teamo adds a minimal 1% fee (minimum 5p) on top of the merchant fee.

How Do I Make a Payment?

  1. Go to Profile Icon > Payments.
  2. Select the payment product you wish to pay for.
  3. Choose Stripe as your payment method.
  4. You will be redirected to a Stripe window to securely enter your details and complete the payment.


How Does Teamo Ensure Secure Payments?

Teamo integrates directly with Stripe for all payment processing. This means that:

  • From the moment card details are entered, users interact directly with Stripe.
  • Teamo does not store card details—only receives basic confirmation (e.g., card type and last 4 digits).
  • All interactions comply with PCI security standards, ensuring a fully secure payment process.

What Does “Pending” Mean?

“Pending” indicates the transaction is still processing with GoCardless and the bank. This process starts 5–7 working days before the payment mandate date.

How Much Does GoCardless Cost?

GoCardless is free to set up and only charges for transactions:

Can I Collect One-Off or Recurring Payments?

Yes! GoCardless supports both:

  • One-Off Payments: Great for non-urgent payments.

While GoCardless is not recommended for instant payments, it’s perfect for automated and recurring transactions.

Are There Any Drawbacks to GoCardless?

  • Timing: Payments are not instant. Direct Debit processing takes several working days.
  • Bank Restrictions: Only supports UK bank accounts; foreign accounts are not compatible.

Which Currencies Does GoCardless Support?

GoCardless supports GBP, EUR, SEK, DKK, AUD, NZD, and CAD.

How Do GoCardless Payment Timings Work?

The processing time depends on whether the member is creating a new Direct Debit mandate or using an existing one.

It can take up to 5 days for a new mandate to become active.

How Do I Create a GoCardless Account - Admin?

  1. Go to Manage Club > Payment Accounts.
  2. Click Connect New GoCardless Account > Continue.
  3. Complete the setup on the GoCardless website.
  4. Enter your club’s bank account details and return to Teamo. Your account will now appear under GoCardless Accounts.

How Do I Request Payments from Members?

  1. Create a product via Manage Club > Club Products.
  2. Fill in all the details and specify whether you want to collect payments through Stripe, GoCardless, or both.
  3. Assign the payment to members through:
  • Payments Centre, or
  • Manage Club Products > Teams Requiring Membership (set the payment date for memberships).

How Do Members Make Payments via GoCardless?

  1. Go to Profile Icon > My Payments.
  2. Select the payment product and choose GoCardless as the payment method.
  3. Complete the process in the GoCardless window to set up one-off or recurring payments.


Why Isn’t a Payment Showing as Paid in Teamo?

Once funds are received into the club account, the payment status will change from “Pending” to “Paid.”

How Do I Delete a Duplicate GoCardless Account - Member?

  1. Go to Profile Icon > My Payments.
  2. Click the payment icon (top-right corner).
  3. Select the mandate you wish to remove and confirm.

What Should I Do If I’m Not Receiving Payouts?

Ensure your GoCardless account verification is complete. Check your inbox for verification emails from GoCardless and follow the instructions to finish the process.
