Cancelling Your Membership

How to Cancel Your Membership

If you or your child wants to leave a club, you cannot cancel your own membership directly in the Teamo app. Membership cancellations must be processed by your club administrator or treasurer.

This page explains how to contact your club admin, what to include in your request, and what to do if you have outstanding payments.

Step 1: Contact Your Club Admin

Use the Chats tab to message your club admin

Open the app and tap Chats in the bottom navigation. From there you can send a message to your club administrator requesting your membership be cancelled.

Include the following in your message:

  • Your full name (and your child's name if cancelling on their behalf)
  • Which membership or club you want to leave
  • The date you would like the cancellation to take effect
  • A brief reason (optional but helpful)

Outstanding Payments

You may need to settle outstanding invoices first

If you have any unpaid invoices, your membership may not be cancelled until these are resolved. You can check your outstanding payments by tapping Payments in the bottom navigation.

To resolve outstanding payments, you have two options:

  • Pay the amount due — tap any outstanding invoice to pay it directly in the app
  • Ask your admin to write it off — if the payment is disputed or no longer applicable, your club admin can write off the invoice before cancelling your membership

For Club Admins: Removing a Member

Admins can remove members via Members Centre on desktop

Club administrators and treasurers can cancel a member's membership through the Members Centre:

  1. Go to Manage Club in the app or on the web
  2. Open Members Centre (best used on desktop for full functionality)
  3. Search for the member by name
  4. Select the member and choose Remove Member
  5. Confirm the removal — you will be warned if the member has outstanding invoices

Note: removing a member does not cancel any outstanding invoices. Resolve unpaid amounts before or after removal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I cancel my own membership?

Membership cancellations are managed by club administrators so they can handle outstanding payments, guardian/dependant links, and ensure accurate member records.

What if I can't reach my club admin?

Try sending a message via the Chats tab. If you don't receive a response, you can contact Teamo support via the Support Chat in the Chats tab.

What happens to my data after I leave?

When a club admin removes you from the club, your profile is removed from their member list. Your Teamo account itself remains active — you can still log in and use Teamo with any other clubs you belong to.

I have an outstanding invoice but I've already left the team. Do I still need to pay?

Outstanding invoices remain on record even after membership is cancelled. Contact your club admin to discuss whether the invoice should be paid or written off.
