We were recently joined by Matthew Steven from Alton Hockey Club to discuss how Teamo has helped move the club’s infrastructure into the modern digital era. With over 450 active members, Alton HC have been using Teamo for two years now; helping them to manage their 11 senior teams and an ever growing junior section.
Through the event we discussed several areas of club management relevant to managing a junior section. We started off by discussing how the club had found the transition of moving all their systems and processes onto one online platform. Matthew spoke about the potential challenges, how these were overcome and the new benefits of having an online system for managing their junior section.
Being able to communicate with guardians is a crucial part of running any junior team. With Teamo this can be done in a GDPR compliant and safeguarded way via in-app chat and Teamo mail functionality. Giving the junior age groups some responsibility was also discussed as Teamo allows juniors themselves to communicate in a safe way that automatically includes their guardians in any conversations with their coaches or managers.
Matthew went into detail about how the various financial tools in Teamo have allowed the club to collect 100% membership fees and 98% match fees this year. In the new cashless world, moving payments to an easy to use digital format is crucial.
Teamo’s allowed Alton to organise events with ease and gather availability for training, matches and social events. Matthew also mentioned how being able to view the whole family’s hockey calendar in one place has made his life much easier.
