Ukrainian Refugee Dmytro scores for U12 Hurricanes

Welwyn Garden City Youth FC were recently informed of a 12-year-old Ukrainian refugee, Dmytro, who has escaped the war in his homeland and moved into Hertfordshire. He has moved without his parents and it is understandably a very distressing time for him. Our club was delighted to invite him to play for our U12 Hurricanes and provide him with full kit, shin pads and boots.

He took the field as a substitute on Sunday and scored an extremely well taken goal within five minutes of entering the field, much to the delight of his teammates and coaches.

We all hope that the war in his home country ends soon, and that he will be able to be reunited with his parents. Whilst he remains in the UK we will be happy to provide him with as many opportunities as we can to play football.
