Wallingford Hockey Club has fully adopted and implemented England Hockey's Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in Hockey policy
Everyone that is involved in hockey has a duty of care to others within the sport and a legal and moral duty to ensure their safety and welfare. It is essential that young people are provided with the right environment and surrounded by the right people with the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to support their growth. As a club it is essential that we provide a safe, effective, child friendly environment.
Safeguarding is about good practice when working with young people. It's about providing a culture that is young person focused, offers appropriate activities and has a two-way communication with young people and their parents or carers. As part of our commitment to develop young people, everyone has to be aware of the need to report concerns and deal with them correctly.
If you have any questions, concerns, or would like to view hard copies of the policies, please feel free to contact one of our Safeguarding & Welfare Officers directly through Teamo, or by sending an email to welfare@wallingfordhc.org.uk.
We will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
