Notes
1. Women Group A, B, C/ Men Group A, B, C – Players will be allocated to a specific group through preseason and early weeks of the season, regularly reviewed to help players to be training in the right group for them. With Groups A and B containing the strongest players and Group C least experienced/lowest ability players.
2. New names for groups, will still in general correspond to stated age groups, but where appropriate players may be invited to a more advanced group:
U12s = Early Foundations
U14s = Foundations
U16s = Potential
3. Accelerators is an additional programme that will be offered to certain players aged 11 to 16 who demonstrate a high level of potential, are keen to improve and are looking to progress through the development pathway.
4. Potential (U16s) – In most instances this will be the U16s training as a group for at least an hour before joining the appropriate senior training session
5. Several sessions are subject to demand and will be reviewed during the season
6. Kids Skills is for juniors completely new to the sport beyond U8s to help them develop a basic level of competence before joining a full age group session
7. Adult beginners/Back to hockey – Is for anyone age 16 plus who is either returning to the sport or is looking to take up hockey. These sessions are fun, welcoming and coached. (Non-members £5)
8. Junior and Senior Goalkeeper training will be alternative weeks
9. U18 sessions will take place on Mondays 19:30 to 21:00 on specific weeks aligned to their competitions.
10. Where sessions overlap the pitch maybe split in two to allow both groups to share the pitch for that period of overlap
11. It may be necessary on occasion to change training times or training location due to festivals or tournaments, squad managers will communicate any changes.

As a club, we would never want financial reasons to mean that anyone was unable to join our community, or play the sport that we all love. If anyone has any concerns about payments, would find it easier to defer payment to a later date, or prefer to pay by instalments, then please get in touch, and we will do our best to help.
You can contact our treasurer:
Personal accident insurance cover for the members (Full subscription) whilst engaging in any hockey match (full scope of cover available on request) is included via the match fee.
The Game Management System (GMS) is England Hockey's new system to record all hockey matches in England. This season, all members playing adult hockey will be required to register with GMS. This will enable captains to submit weekly team sheets and results to England Hockey, as per league requirements.
You must register now at: https://gms.englandhockey.co.uk/
Blueharts Hockey Club was founded by old boys of Hitchin Grammar School in 1946. It led a nomadic existence until it was welcomed at Hitchin Cricket Club at Lucas Lane in 1952. The quality and commitment of the early players soon established Blueharts as one of the senior clubs in the region. The men have had two spells in the National League. The men’s section has grown to 7 sides, all competing in the East League.
The ladies section was founded in 1986 and has also had a spell in the National League. They have grown to 7 sides, with the all competing in the East League.
The club is proud of its highly successful Junior hockey section for 6 to 18 year olds, where over 250 children are coached during the Winter season.
In partnership with Hitchin Cricket Club, a contract was awarded to Morgan Sindall to build a new clubhouse and artificial pitch on the Lucas Lane sports ground which opened in early 2019.
The fabulous new facilities contain many superb features that will enable various functions & events being hosted in the Clubhouse 1st floor Function Room.
Access is arrived at by lift, internal stairs and via the ground floor patio to the Balcony area.
The adjoining outside Balcony is laid out with tables and chairs, giving lovely views of the surrounding countryside vista and horizon, stunning sunsets, all viewed where guests can enjoy the peace of the rural setting.
The Function Room has a dedicated staffed bar, holds up to 140 people buffet style and 90 formal sit down dining. Double noise insulation doors lead from here to the separate Members Bar areas.
The facilities include; circular and trestle tables and chairs for formal dining, bar stool areas plus the balcony area further tables and chairs.
There is a fully licensed dedicated function room bar, 2 TVs, DVD, Projector, Corporate Kitchen, fully integrated sound system for Bands & DJs, Audio Visual equipment and WiFi.
Disabled toilets with baby changing facilities are available.
We also have a Meeting Room on the Ground Floor for hire which holds up to 14 people with table & chairs, WiFi, Screen with IT plug n play for presentations etc, Audio Soundbox for conference type calls, coffee, tea facilities provided.
The clubhouse is suitable for the following type events :
