Mens 5 vs Richmond Redoubtables

Really well done today everyone. You can absolutely be proud of that performance. We’re a brand new XI with no pre-season under our belts, so it was really encouraging to see everyone jump out the blocks from the whistle, putting in the effort, competing, and scoring goals.

Training and more matches will bring greater fitness, familiarity and confidence, and based on today’s performance and result we’re already not in a bad position, so I’m optimistic for the season. Some of our movement and passing in the second half was really good. We need to figure out getting caught in the break a bit better, as that was their only real route to goal, I thought. We can probably be a bit sharper all over the pitch too, so try and work on that in practice. And obviously the next time I’m tempted to shepherd the ball over the backline don’t worry, I’ll just launch it!

Special mentions to our guest players today, I really appreciate you supporting our XI, especially MoM Brett who dealt with their very good forward excellently.

Thanks for all your efforts today guys.
