Talent Centre Accreditation

The club successfully achieved Talent Centre Accreditation from England Hockey in September 2023, showing the commitment and dedication of the club to further develop and be recognised for the great work we do.

According to England Hockey, ‘A Talent Centre club is a club that provides high quality provision for players at early talent development level (Talent Foundations). This provision will be embedded within the club’s junior programme. Talent Centre accreditation recognises the quality of a club’s talent development environment and provision, not individual players.'

There are currently less than 40 clubs across the country with Talent Centre status.

Key things the assessors were looking for are:

· Excellent coaching and support

· Stretching opportunities for children

· Pathways into playing adult hockey

· Different opportunities – junior, adult and indoor hockey

Us becoming a Talent Centre doesn’t change the way the junior section is currently running although we will be receiving additional support from England Hockey to continue to improve and give the best opportunities available to our young players.
