Evening gents,
A frustrating game last weekend where we utterly dominated the oppo but just couldn’t find a way through. I thought we showed plenty of energy all over the pitch, communicated well, and looked both comfortable and threatening for most of the game. Stand out performances at the back from Dave F and Rob P in particular, supporting our man of the match Dave D in the middle of the park. Well done, chaps.
Aside from maybe three or four breakaways (always a danger when you’re on top so much) we looked very solid defensively. We also created lots up the middle and on the right, and with slightly improved passing accuracy, we surely would have scored multiple goals. Credit to their keeper - he kept them in it.
So well done all on a determined performance. I think if we’d had a couple of subs it would have inched us over the line - it was tough playing with 11 on a hot day. That said, it was nice to be able to sit outdoors at their pavilion, and I thought the pizza was pretty good.
