I encouraged the Ladies to write a match report,
But never envisaged such an amazing retort,
A poem was written,
The whole club smitten,
And now I have a stellar write up to sort...
We faced Hertford, our great rival,
A battle ensued, not quite for survival,
The umpires were new,
Many whistles were blew,
We were told to keep quiet, as winning was vital
Hertford displayed an aerial attack,
Reesy failed to collect it at the back,
Nick floundered,
Rob blundered,
Darn it we need to comeback,
We turned to coach Dominic,
Whose drag flicks are sort of boom-sonic
He finds the net,
Oh what a threat
It really is quite fantastic!
Hertford scored again,
A flukey goal, i'd give it one out of ten,
From a short corner,
It wasn't a corker,
We needed to get back, are we mice or are we men?
We'd put in an effort and Danny was tired,
Dom suffered a hurty knee, and came off injured,
Reesy at left wing was introduced,
Everyone else was completely confused,
But he found George down the line and a superb shot was fired
The second half got off to a frustrating start,
As Hertford scored with luck more than art,
The Umpire was getting lots of attention
As Skills and Dom were sent to detention,
Now down 3-2, we needed to show some heart
Mox was having the game of his season,
Clive running the bench perhaps was the reason?
At a shorty Dom missed,
A defenders stick it kissed,
Another defender kicks it in, does this amount to treason?
It was surely about time that we took the lead,
Who could be our saviour and do the deed?
It required a finish
For Hertford's hopes to diminish,
And Dom provided the way for us to succeed.
We're pretty happy with our season so far,
Even more happy with our time in the bar,
Our forwards scored a hatful,
Which made the defenders grateful,
The tangerines we face next, be ready for war
We will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
