Morpeth arrived in Whickham in great heart looking forward to the encounter with our old foe Gateshead.
Spirits were high going into this game and the instructions from the Captain was to keep 11 players on the pitch at all times, so no chat to the umpires.
Our push back plan was hatched, game on.
Plan A failed as Gallivan's aerial more resembled a submarine.
The Gold and Green were soon on top however, wave after wave of attack led to some nice inter play on the right with Renwick and Gallivan bypassing the backs and Gallivan firing into the roof of the net.
More of the same 5 minutes later with Renwick firing an inch perfect cross for Renwick to convert.
As usual elder Renwick hadn't listened to the team talk and saw green following a disagreement with the umpire
Second half saw more Morpeth dominance, our back line impregnable, the midfield working hard and moving the ball with accuracy and pace, the youngsters doing everything asked. Gateshead had no reply.
Another Renwick pin point cross saw Gallivan clean up a rebounded shot to make it 3, he soon had his hattrick from a short lifted into the roof of the net.
Final score 4-0 and could have been more.
Mom Gallivan - Hattrick
