The 1st half main message from captain Andy Gallivan was to go into the new league as champions and walk out with 3 points and enjoy ourselves.
WB&THC came to us on the counter non-stop but great defending from Alex Laude, Yuri M and Gallivan but unfortunately WB&THC proved to be the stronger team ending the half 3-0.
2nd half after the team talk the mighty green and gold stood up to the reds ,Chris Oakton and Alex Laude were brilliant workhorses in midfield and it was great to see Cameron Lauder and Gareth Anderson returning to the club
Morpeths hopes were brought up by Gallivans top bins goal from a short corner but unfortunately couldn't keep the reds down with another 3 goals conceded the game finished 6-1.
Morpeths Captain told the team everyone played exceptional keep our heads up and go against Gateshead next week and bring back the 3 points for Morpeth
