The Thames Valley Pétanque Association (TVPA) is the regional pétanque association to which Pétanque Wallingford belongs. The TVPA organises games between its member clubs, and with other regional clubs in national competitions.

Pétanque England (PE) is the national governing body for the sport of pétanque in England. Pétanque Wallingford is affiliated to PE, and members wishing to compete in regional leagues (the Thames Valley midweek league and winter pairs competitions), or in national or international competitions, will need to take out a PE license. 

The Confédération Européenne de Pétanque (CEP - the European Pétanque Confederation) holds championship competitions for European club teams and players. Pétanque Wallingford takes part in the European Cup for Clubs Tournament.

The Fédération Internationale de Pétanque et Jeu Provençal (FIPJP - the International Federation for Pétanque and the Provençal Games) is the umbrella organisation for pétanque internationally.  Pétanque Wallingford follows the FIPJP official rules for the sport of pétanque.
