The men's 5s put on an impressive performacne in the early evening sunshine at the University of Bath against the men's 7s. The 5s started stronly with the midfield domiating and putting the 7's back line under pressure. This pressure led to goals from Jan Pol, captain Chris Hancock and Tom Bates (at uni). Another was added by Henry Purchase before half time to make it 4 - 0. The second half continued in the same vein with the 5s transfering the ball at pace. However, a lapse in concentration led to a penalty corner for the 7s which was converted by Silcox to make it 4-1. The response from the 5s was immediate, with a quick break and cross from Purcahse which found Bates who coolly lifted the ball over the outrushing keeper into the net. Further goals from Jano Pol and Finley sealed the result.
