Most people meet your club for the first time on a phone, at the side of a pitch or on the sofa on a Sunday night. Your Teamo club website is built for that moment: it’s quick to load, it’s easy for Google and AI assistants to read, and we look after it for you.
We measured it against the two biggest club-website platforms, Pitchero and ClubBuzz, using Google’s own speed test. Here’s what we found, and what it means for your club.
Google’s PageSpeed test scores a page out of 100 for how quickly it loads on a phone. Teamo club homepages scored a median of 92.5, against 65 for Pitchero and 67 for ClubBuzz. Every Teamo homepage we tested scored higher than every Pitchero and ClubBuzz homepage we tested.

Teamo club sites score highest on Google’s own speed test, on homepages and on match pages.
Google PageSpeed Insights (mobile), 7 October 2026. Median of 5 runs per page; platform figure is the median across clubs. Homepages: 6 Teamo, 6 Pitchero and 5 ClubBuzz club sites. Match pages: one per club (6 / 5 / 5).
What matters most to a visitor is how soon they see your club. On a phone, a Teamo homepage shows its main content in 2.9 seconds, against 5.3 seconds on Pitchero and 7.4 seconds on ClubBuzz. On match pages the gap is bigger: 4.1 seconds on Teamo against 10.5 seconds on Pitchero.

On a phone, a Teamo club’s page appears in about half the time.
Teamo pages are also light. A Teamo homepage is 0.80 MB, well under half the size of the same page on Pitchero (2.04 MB). Less to download means quicker on patchy 4G at the ground, and kinder to a parent’s data plan. And Teamo pages are ready to use almost as soon as they appear: Pitchero homepages spend about nine times longer too busy to respond to a tap.

A Teamo homepage is well under half the size of the same page on Pitchero.
Here’s the same match, published on two club websites. On the Teamo club’s site the page scores 79 and its main content appears in 5.3 seconds, at 0.52 MB. On the other platform it scores 51, appears in 6.9 seconds and weighs 2.19 MB.

None of this needs you to do anything. Every time someone opens your site, Teamo does four things behind the scenes:

Four things Teamo does so your club appears quickly on a phone.
A quick site is only useful if people can find it. Teamo club websites come ready for search engines and AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Gemini: a sitemap, search-friendly page addresses, share previews for social media, and a club profile Google can read, with your club’s name, sport and ground.
Every Teamo site also publishes a plain-text guide to the club’s pages, called llms.txt, written for AI assistants to read. So AI assistants can read your club’s pages and fixtures, not just search engines.

Teamo club websites have these, without you doing anything.
Your fixtures are part of it too. Add a fixture once in the Teamo app and your website updates itself. Every upcoming match, for the next six weeks, gets its own page with the teams, date, time and venue, in a form Google and AI assistants can read. On 29 September that was more than 4,000 upcoming match pages across 100 clubs.

Add a fixture once in the app. Your website, Google and AI assistants take it from there.
Club websites go quietly out of date at the start of a season, when last year’s teams are still in the menus. At each new season Teamo checks every club’s site and moves menus, team links and fixture pages across to the new season’s teams. This season we checked all 170 live club sites.

When the new season starts, we move your website over too.
Already on Teamo? Nothing. All of this is already live on your club website, and it keeps happening every week and every season. Keep adding your news and fixtures, and Teamo takes care of the rest.

How we measured: we tested the same fixed set of club websites on each platform with Google’s free PageSpeed Insights tool, on its mobile setting, on 7 October 2026. Each page was tested five times, all three platforms in the same session, and we used the middle (median) result for each page and then the median across each platform’s clubs. Homepages: 6 Teamo, 6 Pitchero and 5 ClubBuzz club sites, mostly hockey and cricket clubs. Match pages: one match page per club. Results vary from run to run and from club to club; these are typical figures, not guarantees. “Main content visible” is Google’s Largest Contentful Paint; “time too busy to respond” is Google’s Total Blocking Time; page size is the total downloaded on first load. Some clubs in the fixed comparison set have mostly older pages, which are lighter, so if anything the comparison is conservative.
