Managing Photo Permissions

In today’s digital world, sharing photos of events, teams, and activities is a great way to celebrate achievements and create a sense of community. However, it’s essential to ensure that all guardians, dependants and members are comfortable with their photos being shared. Managing photo permissions properly helps maintain privacy and respect personal preferences.

How to Manage Photo Permissions

Guardians and members have control over their photo permissions and can update their preferences at any time. To do so:

  1. Click on your profile icon.
  2. Select your name.
  3. Locate the photo permission toggle and adjust it according to your preference.

By updating this setting, you can ensure that you or your child’s photo is only published if you are comfortable with it.

Admin Access to Photo Permissions

For administrators, checking whether a member has given photo consent is simple:

  1. Navigate to the Members Center.
  2. Click on Manage and select Members Centre.
  3. Use the filtered search to find users who have or have not granted photo permissions.

This streamlined process ensures that admins can quickly verify consent before publishing any images.

Using PhotoConsent Commands in the Members Center

Admins and authorised personnel can use specific commands to filter members based on their photo consent status:

  • Use PhotoConsent to display a list of members who have granted permission.
  • Use !PhotoConsent to view those who have not provided consent.

Additionally, you can check an individual member’s status by selecting their profile and viewing whether the toggle is turned on or off.

Why Photo Permissions Matter

Respecting photo permissions is a crucial step in protecting the privacy of both children and adults. Whether it’s a school event, sports team, or community gathering, ensuring that individuals have control over their image use is an important aspect of digital responsibility.

Best Practices for Photo Permissions

To maintain up-to-date permissions and avoid any misunderstandings, we recommend reminding members to review their photo preferences at the beginning of each season. A simple announcement or notification can prompt guardians and members to update their settings, ensuring that everyone’s wishes are respected.

By prioritising consent and making it easy to manage, we create a more inclusive and respectful environment for sharing memories while upholding privacy standards.
