Membership category notes:

  • Adult Full Membership: we hope and expect all adult playing members to be available and play in the majority of fixtures (subject to injury and occasional absence).
  • Adult Limited Membership (previously "Occasional Membership"): limited to 8 league fixtures and/or 8 training sessions per season, but can be upgraded to Adult Full Membership later in the season. This membership category is to enable people to play hockey who might not otherwise join the club at all and is aimed at:
  • (i) those returning to hockey after a break but unsure if they will have the time/childcare/support/fitness/health etc to play every week
  • (ii) those who have an extended absence planned, perhaps for family, work or relocation reasons or are joining the club mid-season
  • (iii) those who are likely to be playing for the lower teams (i.e. 3s, 4s, 5s)
  • (iv) those who are not intending to attend training frequently.
  • Please contact the Membership Secretary to discuss your circumstances and request Limited Membership. If agreed the Membership Secretary can then enable you to purchase LImited Membership in Teamo.
  • Junior membership: applies to those under 18 on the first day of the Membership Year. Junior members are eligible to play junior and senior matches (if aged 13 or above on the day of the fixture) and take part in junior and/or adult training as appropriate. Note that juniors aged 12 on the day of the fixture are eligible to play Development Team fixtures subject to club and parental approval (See regulation 7.2 of NW League Regulations).
  • Adult Concession membership: is intended to help individuals who could not afford the full membership fee to play hockey at the club for a reduced fee and applies to the following categories of member:
  • Student membership: applies to those over 18 on the first day of the Membership Year and in full time education and therefore only earning a wage on a casual/occasional basis. NB Apprentices (or similar) who study and earn at the same time are not eligible for the concession membership. Student members pay a reduced match fee.
  • Unwaged membership: applies to those with no, low or modest income who do not qualify for any other concession membership category and who can demonstrate to the Membership Secretary that they cannot afford the full cost of membership (including membership fee, match fees, stick purchase and playing shirt purchase.) Unwaged members pay a reduced match fee, subject to "Change of Circumstances" below.
  • Retired membership: applies to those who are no longer in paid work. Retired members pay the full match fee.
  • Change of circumstances: in the event of any significant change of financial or life circumstances which might impact ability to afford to participate in the club (e.g. getting a new job, losing a job, retirement, maternity), please contact the Membership Secretary to discuss membership and match fees. Note, an Unwaged member who gets a new job should now pay the full match fee.
  • Financial hardship: if you only earn a low or modest income or find yourself facing financial hardship that would prevent you from paying the full membership fee or match fees, please contact the Membership Secretary to help find a way for you to continue to play hockey. For example, the club may be able to offer the Unwaged membership category or offer instalment payment options.
