As part of our Talent Centre engagement with England Hockey we have been given the opportunity to trial a new two part ‘Introduction to Coaching Children’ course (two 3 hr Teams/Zoom workshops from 6pm to 9pm). This is likely to be a replacement for the current Engaging Games course and is designed as an introduction to coaching children covering elements of understanding children and what motivates them, how to create a safe environment and developing fun games. The coach developer line up is stellar with Sam Beveridge (GB Ladies Manager and our Talent Centre Mentor) leading the first and Brett Holland (England Ladies u23 coach and Coach Development lead for EH) leading the second. Both are excellent and from personal experience create fun and engaging sessions.
We see this as a brilliant opportunity for parents to gain some experience and confidence in coaching so they can get more involved in our sessions as well as our older juniors (those doing Duke of Edinburgh award and who have helped coach already) and current qualified coaches who have not had any EH development for a while.
This is a closed workshop just for Alton Hockey Club and we have been given 15 places on a first come first served basis, but can extend to more if demand is high. We have been provided with the following links to register for a place via the Hockey Hub. If you have not used the Hockey Hub before then you will need to register, but this is quick and easy and a one time activity. By registering you will receive the joining details and any pre-work required (usually watching a quick video). Bookings will close on 3rd March.

Please respond to this if you would like any more information or discuss interest. Equally happy for you to just use the links above to register, but please let me know when you have done so. I will also set up two events on Teamo so that we can chat as a group and collect feedback etc
Thanks,
Jon and Pete
We will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
