A crisp, sunny day greeted Magpies Men's 2's as they hosted Wisbech at The Nest. After an intense warm up, Magpies came out of the blocks looking confident. With the majority of possession, Magpies soon won a short corner in which Andy Johnson smashed perfectly into the bottom right hand corner.
The rest of the half Magpies had a lot of freedom to attack, but could not make any clear cut chances. This changed after Finn Hudson skilfully dribbled down the right and side and into the D, picking out Seth Read who slotted it between the keepers legs. 2-0 at the break.
The free-flowing Magpies we saw in the first half carried through into the second, with more goals inevitable. Early in the 2nd half, Simon Hipwell found Read in the D, who deflected it into the bottom corner. A barrage of Magpies attacks, lead to Josh Means slotting one under the keeper, making it 4-0. After Means won a long corner, which resulted in a series of short corners, the last of which would see Leigh Sitch step up to the plate and to slot a well worked routine in the back of the net and providing Magpies the cherry on the cake.
