HWHC: 2 vs Surbiton: 0
Hampstead & Westminster secured a brilliant 2-0 victory over reigning champions Surbiton in a fiercely contested match on Saturday. Hampstead took control in the second quarter, with Rose Tynan breaking the deadlock with a superb back-post deflection from a reverse stick cross. The momentum continued into the third quarter, as a fluid team move saw the ball glide through the ranks, eventually finding Sofia Martin, who calmly slotted home to double the lead.
Despite relentless pressure from Surbiton in the final quarter, Hampstead’s defence held strong. Every player contributed to a solid defensive effort, with a special mention to Miriam Pritchard’s Penalty Corner Defence unit, who expertly shut down all 11 of Surbiton’s corners.
This outstanding result propels Hampstead to 2nd place in the league, behind only Reading, and marks one of the rare defeats for Surbiton in recent years—an incredible achievement!

HWHC: 1 vs Wimbledon: 1
After a victorious day on Saturday vs Surbiton the Ladies 1s were eyeing up for another strong game vs Wimbledon to keep their momentum in the league.
The Hampstead girls started strong, having the lion share of possession and momentum however it was Wimbledon that got on the score sheet first, scoring in the second quarter after some great attacking play. Coming back in after half time it was attacking flair that got us back in the game, with Lucy, Tyler, Rose & Sof showing the skilful prowess across the team & leading to a Hampstead goal. With both sides showing what they were made of to try & win the game we saw an end-to-end game which provided high entertainment. The game ended even, showing a great day at Pad Rec & a super weekend for the girls.
