73 Young Players Progress in the England Hockey Talent System

Congratulations to all of the young players representing County, Talent Academy and England

25% of U13s - U18s at HWHC have reached County level and above this season.


County Hockey

50 junior players have successfully reached U13-U17 County squads this season. 49 will represent London and 1 will play for Hertfordshire. Three U12 Boys have been selected a year early for the U13 age group and HWHC junior goalkeepers have places in 9 out of the 10 squads.


U13 Boys

Sebastian America-Clavel (U12), Kabir Bordoloi, Thor Ceric – GK (U12), Yugo Fletcher, William Ince, Benji Ingham, Jake Ingham, Marcus Koffel, Reuben Pushpananthan, Asa Turton (U12).

U13 Girls

Sofia Brechner, Frances Lake, Faye Roe, Willa Saint – GK, Thea Shah.

U14 Boys

Victor America-Clavel, Victorien Caumette-Richard – GK, Raif Ceric, Max Heinlein, Victor Richards, Zed Turton.

U14 Girls

Bella Bunn, Elise Byrne, Louise Laurans Ferreira, Sofia Potter, Cecilia Samonigg von Staszewski, Anna von dem Hagen, Josie Lehmann – GK, Isabel Walker.

U15 Boys

U15 Girls

U17 Boys

Max Geiger, Miles Cooper Jones, Jack Lesser, Ishan Mathur, Oscar Stupple, Emiliano Yanez – GK.

U17 Girls

Ruby Baird – GK, Imogen Brown, Alice Dierick.


Talent Academy

16 junior players have progressed to Talent Academy this season; 15 at HWHC and 1 at Old Loughts.

Boys

Thomas Bignone, Philipp Heinlein, Shareef Okoya, Lewis Papworth, Sahil Prasad, Malachi Prior, Milo Sharland, Troy Strawbridge (Old Loughts), Alex Taylor, Tobias Whittaker.

Girls

Martina Brechner, Florence Byrne, Saskia de Koster, Julia Johnson, Natalia Mars, Zoey Scrutton.


A further two young players who play for HWHC senior teams are also in HWHC Talent Academy:

Gabriella Giles – Ladies 2s, Lucille Lovell – Ladies 3s.


England

Five young players have progressed to the England U18 squad:

Jake Glew - U18 Boys & Men's 2s, Carys Isherwood – Ladies 1s, Freddy Pettifer – Men’s 2s, Marco Riley - U18 Boys & Men's 1s/2s, Lucas Smart - U18 Boys & Men's 1s/2s.
