Men's Renegades vs Old Georgians

Well well well...... all season long the Renegades have been praying for the day to arrive when we had a full squad available with substitutes -- yes those things... and we finally achieve it on the last fixture of the season.

What a joy it was then to face the prospect of a strong Old Georgians side with not 1, not 2, not even just 3 but FOUR substitutes and what a bench it was as well.

OG's were a solid outfit we knew that much after coming a distant second to them just a few weeks ago but Skipper Tuckers set the team up with clear instructions and we were going to make the most of our bountiful supplies of fresh legs from the bench.

What followed was a thoroughly enjoyable 70 minutes of back and forth with Rob "Snoop" Blankson scoring the winner when a rare lapse of concentration from the OG's defence left him with all the time in the world to slap the ball home high into the side netting.

Tim Johnson, Ben Blake, Adam Harvey and Chris "the Rev" Lee completed the scoring so we finished with 5 different scorers !

Much discussion about the future direction of matchdays (nights) was had in the Ship afterwards as clearly midweek availability for most of us who have little people is a big factor. Maybe Thursdays is the new Saturday after all.....
