Ladies 1st Team vs Marlow 2

Yesterday, the ladies 1s played against a young marlow 2s, pushing through a 2-0 loss at half time to grab a 2-2 draw. 

In the first half Wally faced some challenges with the sun, sticky astro and rapid oppo but still managed some great passages of play. Tazz, Flic and Phil led our defence from the front putting in a huge shift, and great work from our midfield and screens getting the ball out and up the pitch. 

After an inspiring talk at half time and a few sweets we were raring to go. Jess skilfully stole the ball in the press, and did an amazing cross to Flic who slotted it in to the goal - we were back in the game! Opportunity struck again with a perfect crash ball in to the d from Beth and a fab touch in from Phil drawing us even! Both teams had bits and pieces of possession for the rest of the match with both teams stopping the ball on the line (great job Athena) and Marlow having some shorts which were masterfully defended thanks to Connor’s top tier coaching. The whistle blew before any more goals could go in with Wally happy with their comeback.

Dod - Lucy for her 3 pints of water and momentary shoelessness mid game 

Mom- Jess and Sibby who were both super strong in midfield/screen and really held the team together both in defence and attack.
