On a beautiful sunny Saturday in Cambridge the women's 2’s were focussed & ready for a tough match vs the team one place above them in the league.
The game was evenly matched through the first half, with magpies winning several short corners. Issy had a very close chance but the Cambridge keeper was on good form and kept the ball out of the net.
Some solid work from Fran & Debs in the middle kept Magpies pressing well and we were unfortunate not to convert some excellent pressure into a well deserved goal.
Amelia, Louisa & Kira were all working hard in defence to keep Cambridge at bay & despite both Lou & Kira having a little green card rest, Magpies kept their shape and structure.
Catherine had a great game in goal making some crucial saves to keep the ladies in the game.
A well contested second half saw no goals scored for either team, with the short corner defence for Magpies keeping a short corner out very late into the game.
The game finished 0-0, with Catherine getting player of the game.
