The womens 2’s travelled away to Broxbourne with the 12 legends! We welcomed fresh legs in from Frances & Grace to travel down to Hertfordshire.
We knew the game would be tough, especially as Broxbourne’s game was called off yesterday! They turned up with a squad of 15 and the Magpies 2’s knew we would have to dig deep right from the get go.
Some great work from Issy & Lamps up front won us a corner which Lucy W beautifully fired home with a drag flick to take us 1-0 ahead. Broxbourne were keeping us well under pressure & scored themselves from a short corner after 20minutes. Nige gave us a rousing team talk where we knew we needed to adjust our press, and this helped us to stop Broxbourne from playing the way they wanted to.
We started strong & after some excellent pressure, Lamps slotted the ball home to take us 2-1 ahead.
We held our nerve and were delighted to come away with 3 points, making it 5 wins from 5!
